Accommodation Sun Peaks

Within the ski-through village of Sun Peaks you’ll find eight hotels and lodges ranging from moderate to luxury. Choose from standard hotel rooms, condo style units with kitchens to high ender apartments all just a short ski from the front door to the chairlift and ski school. Surrounding the village, you will find larger townhouses and condos that offer ski-in, ski-out access, private hot tubs and all the amenities of a home. December 2018 Sun Peaks opened the Orient Chairlift to better service this area and allow even better access to the slopes from these units. The free in-resort shuttle operates daily from 8am to 10pm to easily get into the village, or enjoy a short 10-15 minute walk along the valley trail.

Skiing & Boarding

Sun Peaks is Canada's second largest ski area. The three mountains of Sun Peaks surround the alpine village offering a 360-degree effect. Alpine trails flow down to the ski-through village and each chair offers a beginner and intermediate run off of every chairlift. Families of all abilities can ski together, choosing the run that best suits their abilities and easily meeting up in the village. The convenient design and layout of Sun Peaks also allows for no lift ques or crowds and the slopes all to yourself. Mums, dads and kids alike will love the dedicated beginners’ areas designed to help you progress from the learning slopes to the top of the mountain in no time. Programs include tots, kids and teen lessons, camps, clinics and off-piste programs for all ages. On weekends and holidays the platter lift is open late so you can keep practicing after the main lifts have closed. Consistent snow fall and light dry powder blanket the slopes and over 2,000 hours of sunshine each year. The beginner runs are wide open and groomed with the longest one being 8km’s long. Over half the terrain is intermediate making Sun Peaks a blue run paradise and those looking for steeper terrain and powder stashes can explore the 17 gladded areas or head in Gil’s, an inbounds area with a backcountry feel.
