The great news is that when you’re in Telluride you won’t need a car – the town is pedestrian friendly and there’s a free gondola that links to the two towns and runs every day from 6:30am until midnight, which offers incredible views along the way. It’s a favourite of mine for its dramatic scenery, large varied terrain, world-class accommodation and dining, and a gondola that runs until midnight! Don’t miss a stop at the on-mountain Alpino Vino (wonderful Italian food and sunnies provided if lunching al fresco), or if French more your style ski by Bon Vivant. The cosmos at Cosmopolitan in Telluride town are the business and a steak at the famous Chop House at the New Sheridan Hotel is not to be missed! Burgers at the Floradora Saloon washed down with a horseradish-infused Bloody Mary are highly recommended too
