Accommodation Heavenly

There are plenty of accommodation options at Heavenly, and, while you can choose to enjoy the convenience of staying on the mountain, the gondola provides plenty of easy access from the lakeside. This makes it just as easy to stay down in Stateline, Nevada, where you’re close to the gondola and bustling nightlife or South Tahoe (California) where the room rates are more affordable.
If you’re travelling with family, you may prefer to stay in the California Base area. While there is not as much accommodation here as in other areas, it is within walking distance of the Aerial Tramway, and closest to the best beginner slopes and day care.
Choose from lodges, hotels and condos to suit your style and your budget and rest assured that you’ll have great options for dining, shopping and entertainment wherever you are.

Skiing & Boarding

Heavenly has an amazing mix of terrain for all abilities, serviced by efficient lift infrastructure that keeps the crowds moving.  Renowned for its endless bluebird days, you’ll enjoy incredible views of Lake Tahoe from pretty much every run.
If you’re an intermediate, you can quickly get your legs burning on long groomed runs where the trees are perfectly spaced, explore canyon areas and challenge yourself with chutes and drops. If you’re looking for some fun, Heavenly’s multiple parks, with their half pipes, have loads of it, regardless of your ability.
If you’re advanced, don’t miss the chance to ski through the amazing gladed terrain surrounded by massive pine trees or the alpine bowls. While nothing’s impossible at Heavenly, you’ll find the Mott and Killebrew Canyon areas really get your heart pumping… and then there’s off-piste (don’t forget your trail map!)
If you’re skiing with kids, you’ll find a good range of childcare and babysitting options and a Ski School that operates out of 3 locations. There are ski programs for adults and children, as well as the option to combine ski school with lessons for the little ones.
Lake Tahoe gets some epic powder dumps with an average 9 metres falling each year. The resort tops this up with man-made snow, to ensure 73% of the trails are covered. The snow can be a little wetter here than in other resorts, but there’s always plenty of it.

Activities

Heavenly is renowned for its parties and 24-hour casinos, however there’s plenty for the whole family to enjoy here as well, with a movie theatre and an open air ice skating rink for starters.
Snow-based activities include snowshoeing, snow-tubing and zip-lining up at the mountain adventure peak and there’s a great tubing hill at the top of the Gondola, which will keep you entertained for hours.
Down in South Lake Tahoe there are plenty of activities for the kids, including cinemas, bowling, and sleigh rides.
As you’d expect, Heavenly offers endless restaurants, bars, clubs and shopping

Getting There & Around

Drive from San Francisco or take a direct flight into Reno or Sacramento to access Heavenly.  Driving will take you about 3 hours although this time can almost double during the winter weekends.
Driving to South Tahoe takes about 70 minutes from Reno and 2 hours from Sacramento.
Once you’re at the mountain or down by the lake there’s no need for a car as the gondola is within walking distance and there are plenty of shuttles to Northstar and Kirkwood. If you’re planning on venturing further afield, you will need a rental.
