Accommodation Crested Butte

Crested Butte is a relatively small, inexpensive resort with few accommodation options and no big name luxury hotels. You’ll find a couple of hotels and condos in and around the mountain village with quick, easy access to the slopes and some even have ski-in-ski-out access. A few condos and townhomes are available on-mountain. Down town Crested Butte is more economical than staying on the mountain. Here you'll find an array of hotels, lodges, and bed and breakfasts as well as plenty of shops and options for dining. With the free shuttle running regularly, you can still be on the mountain in no time.

Skiing & Boarding

At just 626 hectares, Crested Butte may be relatively small but here you’ll find some of the most gruesome double black diamond runs in all of Colorado alongside plenty of smooth runs for beginners and intermediate skiers and snowboarders.
First-timers will love the crowd-free mellow runs in the beginners’ area at the base of the resort while intermediate skiers and snowboarders will find a heap of vertical and groomer laps running from top to bottom.
Steeps with 50 degree pitches, tight trees, narrow chutes, cliffs and bowls can be found in the double black terrain of the resort, and within a quick hike there’s some excellent terrain in both Teocalli Bowls. For the locals, there’s nothing that surpasses the Upper, Third, and Lower Third Bowls and a great run back to the East River Express.
For families, there is childcare from the age of 2 months, and various ski and snowboard lessons available.

Activities

Adventure Park, located at the base of the Crested Butte ski resort, offers a ton of activities for the entire family, ranging from bungee trampolines and rock climbing, to mini-golf, and tubing. Here you can also experience snowmobiling, dog sledding, horse riding, and ice fishing.
Elsewhere in the mountain village you can enjoy ziplining or if you feel like some pampering, a one day spa in the mountain village at Elevation Hotel.
Feeling romantic? Enjoy a starlit sleigh ride to beautiful Uley’s Cabin followed by a gourmet dinner.

Getting There & Around

Several airlines have direct flights to Gunnison which is just a 30-minute drive to Crested Butte. Once you’re in Crested Butte a frequent service of free mountain shuttle buses will run you between the mountain village and town – there’s no need to rent a car.
