Accommodation Meribel

Méribel resort comprises one central village (Méribel village) and several satellite villages that include Mottaret and Méribel-Village (as opposed to Méribel village). The most convenient place to stay when you’re skiing here is in the centre of Méribel village, where you’ll find the majority of shops, restaurants and bars. From here you’ll also have direct access to the lifts and the slopes. If you’re travelling with children, you may prefer the convenience of on-snow accommodation at Méribel Mottaret, which is close to the La Chaudanne Base area and ski school, day care and kindergarten. Additionally, from here you’ll have easy access to activities including ice-skating, snowmobiling and the swimming.

Skiing & Boarding

Méribel is particularly suited for intermediates with its wide open, well-groomed runs above the tree line that are connected by an efficient lift system. Advanced skiers and boarders will enjoy Méribel’s fast down hills, which were designed for international competition, and the chance to book a guide and head off-piste. For beginners there’s a great ski school accessible from La Chaudanne Base and perfectly gentle slopes to build your confidence. Most abilities will love Méribel’s fun snow parks and the opportunity to access the neighbouring resorts of Les Menuires, Val Thorens (where the snow is the most reliable) and Courchevel.

Activities

Méribel is geared for kids – in fact this picturesque ski resort is accredited as a ‘Famille Plus’ organisation – your guarantee that it really is committed to meeting their needs! Here they will enjoy ice-skating, snow mobiling and snowshoeing. There’s also cross-country skiing on offer and a full size hockey rink where you’ll often be able to catch a game. Méribel offers ski school, day care and a kindergarten. Indoor activities include a spa and wellness centre, swimming pool, gym, tenpin bowling and a climbing wall. To savour the traditional charm of France, don’t miss a visit to the local market where you can buy delicious French cheeses, a baguette and more, or have an authentic French meal cooked for you in one of the village’s restaurants.

Getting There & Around

To get to Méribel fly into Chambery and Grenoble then transfer by bus to the village, which takes about two hours. Alternatively, fly into Geneva or Lyon, and from there it will take three hours by bus. You can also travel by train from London, Paris and Chambery to Moûtiers, which is just 18kms from Méribel.
