Accommodation Courchevel

Courchevel has some of France’s most prestigious and expensive hotels, however it’s also possible to stay in more affordable accommodation on this superb mountain. There are four villages here, each with a name that reflects the altitude, and as a rule, the higher you stay, the more expensive it will be. If money is no object, Courchevel 1850 has both 6-star palace hotels and 5-star hotels, all offering exceptional service, luxurious accommodation and immediate access to the mountain. Here you’ll also find sophisticated designer stores, gourmet restaurants and some fantastic nightclubs. If you’re holidaying on a tighter budget, Courchevel Moriond 1650 is a lively village with more affordable accommodation, including apartment complexes and smaller hotels. Moriond also has easy access to great beginner and lower intermediate ski slopes. Further down again is Le Praz 1300, where you’ll find a selection of chalets.

Skiing & Boarding

If you’re looking for challenging off-piste skiing and steep terrain as well as some more relaxing wide open groomers and tree-lined runs, Courchevel is your ideal destination. This breathtaking beautiful resort is purpose designed to give you an exceptional skiing experience from the moment you leave your accommodation. Within the boundaries of Courchevel there are over 150kms of perfectly groomed runs and with access to the Trois Vallees, you’ll have a massive 600km of runs to navigate. On top of that there are three slalom runs, a downhill course and plenty of freestyle parks and pipes. The Saulire cable car, Grand Couloir run, the Creux valley and Suisse run are where it’s at for strong intermediates and advanced skiers while intermediates and beginners will love 1850 and the Signal Mountain above Moriond1650.

Within the sophisticated village of Courchevel you’ll find many non-skiing activities to indulge in – from shopping in the world’s finest boutiques and galleries, to catching up on a movie or learning new skills in a local cooking course. Here, you’ll also be spoilt for choice when it comes to finding new ways to enjoy the extraordinary scenery of the Dolomites – whether you choose to go cross-country skiing, ice-skating, snowmobiling, snowshoeing or ice-climbing, you will be surrounded by nature’s beauty. Alternatively try paragliding and parachuting… or take a 2km torch lit sledge run at night from Courchevel to Courchevel 1550, at a descent of 300m… it’s an experience you’ll never forget!

Getting There & Around

when the mountain can be crowded, and prices rise significantly. To get to Courchevel fly into one of the nearby airports and take a bus transfer to the village. It will take two hours to travel by road from Chambery or Grenoble airports and From Geneva or Lyon it will take three hours. Alternatively, take a train to Moûtiers, which is just 24kms from Courchevel and accessible via taxi. There are direct trains to Moûtiers from London, Paris and Chambery. If you’re willing, it’s also possible to arrive in Courchevel by private plane or helicopter.
